You will visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine, an important Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto famous for its thousands of torii gates. Ginkakuji is a Zen temple along Kyoto's eastern mountains of Higashiyama. Ashikaga Yoshimasa, a shogun from 1482, built his retirement villa on the grounds of the temple, modeling it after Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion). The Heian Jingu Shrine is more than a tourist attraction – it is the spiritual center of the nation, as well as to the patriotic citizens of Kyoto. You will also visit the Sanju Sangendo Temple which features over 1000 Kannon (Buddhist figures). The tour is limited to ages three and older due to the long distance travelled.
