Learn how to train your dog to obey basic commands! Registration begins Wednesday, September 30 at Paws & Claws Kennel. This is a beginner-level class for puppies and adult dogs.

Requirements
- Participants must be 18 or older.
- Owners must present current rabies-combination vaccinations consisting of Distemper, Parvovirus, Respiratory, Parainfluenza, and Bordetella documents when registering for this class.
- Leash must not exceed 6 feet in length.
- Dogs must have a collar that fits them without being able to slip out of it (collars that can be used are well fitting buckle collars, slip collars or martingales).
- Owners must sign a media release form to have pictures published by MWR.
Skills Training Schedule
Week 1: Sit, focus, sitting for greetings
Week 2: Review week 1 – Lie down
Week 3: Loose leash walking
Week 4: Leave it/ Drop it - Coming when called
Week 5: Graduation party (or coming when called if not completed in week 4)
Note: If your dog overreacts to loud sounds, being near other dogs, or has other reactive issues, or you are unsure if your dog would be a good fit for a group class, please discuss this with the instructor before registering for the class.
