Youth Programs
School Age Care (SAC)
SAC meets the needs of working parents and accommodates children’s school schedules by providing quality recreational out of school activities for children who have started kindergarten through 5th grade.
SAC programs are affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and 4-H and are accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
Before-School Care, After-School Care, Full-Day Care (on non school days) & Holiday/Summer Camp
These services are offered to meet the needs of families who need to work prior to or beyond the school day. Working parents receive priority on the wait list for care.

Teen Center
The Teen Center offers recreational-based experiential learning opportunities that enhance the school day by integrating age and developmentally appropriate activities based on knowledge of youth development and the needs and interests of the teens in the community.
Youth in 6th–12th grades are able to participate in daily programming and have opportunity for open recreation such as air hockey, outdoor sports, arcade games, billiards, ping pong, PlayStation, Xbox, arts and crafts.
Staff are available to assist with homework and working the STEM technology. Teens can utilize the free wi-fi with their own devices or with Teen Center laptops, iMacs, or iPads.
The Teen Center is affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), hosts lock-ins, and offers trips during school breaks and on weekends.

Youth Sports & Fitness (YSF)
YSF is affiliated with National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) and offers sports and fitness opportunities for youth 3-18 years old.
Youth can stay active year-round by participating in a variety of sports leagues, summer camps and seasonal outdoor trips.
For children 3–5 years old, YSF offers the Start Smart program to help develop motor skills in a fun and non-competitive environment.
Volunteer Coaches Wanted!
Gain coaching experience, Volunteer Service Ribbon hours, CPR/First Aid training, sense of purpose and fulfillment, and spend more time with your family.

Youth Sponsorship (Returning Soon)
YSP is here to smooth the transition to your new community by providing easy integration for new students, answering questions about our community and the Japanese culture, connecting youth with other students, and offering other support during transition.
Students participating in the Youth Sponsorship Program are able to participate in special events and trips created especially for them.
If you need a Youth Sponsor, please complete and return the I Need A Sponsor form either via email or in person – youth in 3rd– 5th grade to SAC and youth in 6th–12th grade to the Teen Center.
If you’re already in Atsugi and would like to BE a Youth Sponsor, complete and return the Be A Sponsor form either via email or in person – youth in 3rd – 5th grade to SAC and youth in 6th – 12th grade to the Teen Center.

Enroll for age and developmentally-appropriate sessions designed to teach and develop your child’s skills and abilities.
NAF Atsugi offers piano and violin lessons at the Little Theater, Building 294 (across from Shirley Lanham Elementary School).
