Youth Sports and Fitness

The Youth Sports & Fitness (YSF) Program provides children and youth (ages 3-18) with opportunities for participation in sports and fitness activities.  The program aims to instill the ideals of good sportsmanship, honestly, loyalty and a sense of teamwork so that children, youth, and teens will become strong, healthy, well-adjusted, and contributing members of society.

 

Three to four-year-old children are provided with a Start Smart program that teaches the motor skills required for future sports participation.  Children five to eight years old learn basic team work and strategy while focusing on having fun in a relaxed atmosphere of encouragement and inclusion.  Children nine and older are separated according to gender and compete against counterpart teams from bases around the Kanto Plain.   

 

The program is not a competitive league nor a training ground for high school or stateside travel teams.  It is not a program that wants to know who the best is.  It is a program that encourages having fun at play and strives to make sports an ongoing and positive experience in children’s lives.

 

Our current programming includes baseball, basketball, cheerleading, dodgeball, futsal, gymnastics, golf, martial arts, soccer, softball, sport stacking, volleyball, running clubs and fitness programs.  Seasonal sports are offered for kids ages 3-15 throughout the year.  In addition, summer sports camps, special events, and club programs are offered in both traditional and non-traditional sports. The annual Youth Sports Calendar and Summer Sports Camp Calendar are available in the Downloads section.

 

 

Youth Sports and Fitness Coach:

The YSF Program is always looking for volunteer coaches.  Benefits include: discounts for youth of volunteers, coaching experience, Volunteer Service Ribbon hours, CPR/First Aid/AED training, and more. Parents can receive 10 CYP Parent Participation Points for each completed six-week or a no-cost registration for their children who wish to participate in the sport they coach.

Current Atsugi CYP patrons have the option to sign up and pay online for CYP services. Patrons will receive online credentials and a letter from Child & Youth Programs (CYP) and can then register online here!
